Uttar Pradesh Free Housing Scheme – The Uttar Pradesh State Government will take a loan of 3000 crore rupees to provide the benefits of free housing to the poor and homeless families of the village. Only the poor families of SC-ST and other backward classes will get the house. As per the reports, about 6.25 lakh rural families will get clearance for availing the benefits of a home on getting the loan.
Details of Uttar Pradesh Free Housing Scheme
According to the sources, the state government wants to provide these free affordable housing units to the poor before the Loksabha elections.
Due to the incorrect financial situation of the state, the state government will take loans from Financial Institution, which provides loans like HUDCO. As per the sources, in the Ist phase, there is a proposal of the loan of rupees 3,000 crores. This amount will ensure the construction of 6.25 lakh houses.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, about 9,70,108 affordable units have been allotted to the state by the end of the current FY. Out of which 5,68,148 units for Scheduled Castes (SCs), 13,312 for Scheduled Tribe (ST) and 3,88,436 housing units for general category (including minority and other backward classes) have been kept under Uttar Pradesh Free Housing Scheme.
