PMAY Tamil Nadu – The nodal agency for implementing the Central Government’s Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) i.e. Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board has got approval from the State government for the construction of 8.29 lakh affordable housing units in 666 urban local bodies under four components of the scheme.
PM Awas Yojana Tamil Nadu – The State Government of Tamil Nadu had urged the Central Government for increasing the sanctions of housing units under PM Awas Yojana Tamil Nadu. After that, it is expected that the Central Government can enhance the number of houses for the ambitious flagship program for the state.
PM Awas Yojana Tamil Nadu – The Tamil Nadu Government has planned for the construction of about 2.66 lakh affordable housing units for the people of slum areas. It will be done with the partnership with the private agencies. Recently, a Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee was held in which about 22,384 housing units were approved. Besides this, according to the sources, about 12,000 units more for slum dwellers are expected to be proposed this year based on land availability.
According to the Demand Survey one by Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board, the total requirement for urban housing for slum and non-slum households under PMAY Tamil Nadu – Housing For All scheme in the State is 8.03 lakh
Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Tamil Nadu
The Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu said that the Tamil Nadu would sanction three lakh houses in 2017-18 under the central government’s Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Tamil Nadu.

According to the Tamil Nadu housing and urban development minister Udumalai K Radhakrishnan, Tamil Nadu stood on first in the country in the terms of having more houses sanctioned from the central sanctioning and monitoring committee (CSMC) of the Union government. He said that the approval was given for the construction of 2,46,268 housing units at a project cost of Rs 8660.06 crore.
