Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Subsidy – Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Subsidy, the central government has claimed to have given a subsidy of Rs. 3559 crore to 1.65 lakh people in the last three years for the urban poor.
Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Subsidy
The Union Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation Ministry compared the three years of Modi government to the UPA government and said that under the Prime Minister’s Housing (Urban) scheme, Modi Government has given benefit to more than 1.65 lakh people between 2015-18, A subsidy of Rs 3,559 crore has been given.
In the current financial year, in addition to the budget of this scheme, Rs. 31,505 crore has also been released. According to the ministry, the UPA government had only benefitted the interest subsidy scheme, only 18,166 people, compared to Modi Government under this credit linked scheme.
The Ministry has released 31,505 crores while ensuring adequate funds for CLSS. Whereas additional provision has been made for the fund of more than Rs. 25 thousand crores in the current financial year.
Apart from this, allocation of Rs. 1900 crores for CLSS was made in this year’s budget. However, the concession to receive more money has also been given if required.
The purpose of this concession is to avoid the shortage of funds for this important mission. Mission has prepared an effective strategy under the CLSS Vertical so that the number of beneficiaries can be increased even this year.
47.5 Lakh Houses Sanctioned Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana
According to the ministry, after the launch of this mission of Modi Government started in June 2015, so far, in the last three years, the construction of 47.5 lakh houses has been approved under this scheme.
This number is much higher than earlier plan because in earlier ten years, only 12.4 lakh houses were sanctioned in the plan. Construction of 27 lakh houses is in different stages of completion, while more than 8 lakh houses have completed construction work in this period.
