Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Maharashtra – In order to achieve the target of 9 lakh houses by 2020 under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in Maharashtra. The Maharashtra Government has decided to purchase affordable homes from Private Builders. According to the Housing Development Minister about lakh of houses are completely ready in the state. The state government will purchase these vacant houses and add to the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Maharashtra.

The state government has appointed the MHADA as a nodal agency. Earlier, Mhada did a survey where the agency had received more than 22 lakh applications from the general public. According to the planning, MHADA Konkan have 7 mega projects where the private builders are ready to sell their pre-constructed houses. In this process, MHADA will get 4 lakh houses in these 7 projects.
However, Last week the Maharashtra government got a green signal for the construction of 10,600 more houses under PMAY. In order to achieve the target of providing affordable houses in Maharashtra, the state government took some major steps like PPP Model, Subsidy, and Redevelopment Projects in last three years.
The main aim is to construct 19.5 lakh homes in Maharashtra by 2022 under PMAY Scheme. Until now, the construction work of 25,857 homes has begun. Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana about 25,000 people have benefited from the credit link subsidy scheme, wherein the government provides a direct benefit to the homebuyer.
In this regard, the Executive Engineer has confirmed that we have got the approval for the construction of 10,600 more houses. More than 2 lakh houses approved for construction yet.
