Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Bareilly – The Uttar Pradesh Housing Development Board (UPHDB) is going to construct a total number of 5,000 housing units in Bareilley under the central government’s ambitious scheme i.e. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana for providing affordable housing unit to the homeless people of the country. These housing units will be constructed in the Bareilly District. For this, there will be a requirement of a total of 12.5-hectare land. The Uttar Pradesh Government has asked the district administration for finding a suitable plot as the same could be transferred to the board, free of cost.

Uttar Pradesh Housing Development Board (UPHDB)’s executive engineer Neha Singh informed that not a single house under this scheme was made so far as there is no land under the project.
The Authority has set a target of constructing 5,000 housing units in the upcoming three years. The authority has directly written the government as well as the district administration to provide them land as the construction could be started. The authority will start the construction work as soon as they will be provided the sought land.
The authority has set a target of constructing 2,000 housing units for the current financial year. For this constructing, the authority needs 5 hectares of land.
As per the officials of Uttar Pradesh Housing Development Board, the local administration can give them any government land that comes under the municipal corporation, local urban bodies, land under PWD, irrigation department or urban development authority.
District Magistrate VK Singh has tasked the ADM (administration) RS Dwivedi to look into the matter. “We will figure out where we have government land in surplus. Since, the project is an utmost priority of the Centre, the required land will be provided to the housing development board shortly,” ADM said.
