Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Andhra Pradesh – 5 Lakh Houses Approved for Construction

Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Rajasthan - Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Rajendra Rathod reviewed the progress of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana with the representatives of the Indira Gandhi Panchayati Raj Institute, representatives of the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, to review the progress of housing scheme.
Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Andhra Pradesh – The state government Andhra Pradesh is going to construct 5 lakh houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. However, these houses will construct in selected 13 districts by the end of 2019. The state government has estimated the cost of this project is Rs 38,266 crore. The government has decided to construct first one lakh houses before Gandhi Jayanti.

The Chief Minister Raghubar Das has directed the officials to increase the daily construction of houses from 100 to 150 to complete the first one lakh houses by October 2. Under this scheme, the state government will provide Rs. 1.50 lakh while the central government will also provide Rs. 1.50 lakh per houses.
According to the plan, these houses would be constructed in different models and categories which will be available in the size of 300 sq ft, 365 sqft and 430 sq ft where the beneficiary will have to pay Rs. 2.56 lakh for the first model, Rs. 3.65 lakh for second model and Rs 4.65 lakh for the third model house. The total cost of the first model houses 300 sqft will be Rs. 5.65 lakh including state and central government share of Rs. 1.50 lakh.
First Model:
House Size – 300 sqft
Beneficiary Sharing Amount – Rs. 2.56 lakh
Second Model:
House Size – 365 sqft
Beneficiary Sharing Amount – Rs. 3.65 lakh
Third Model:
House Size – 430 sqft
Beneficiary Sharing Amount – 4.65 lakh
State Government Sharing Amount – Rs. 1.50 lakh
Central Government Sharing Amount – Rs. 1.50 lakh
Besides, the state government has given the approval for the construction of 2,43,162 houses at the cost of Rs 15,296 crore in the second phase.
