PMAY Uttar Pradesh – Govt Sanctioned 70,784 Houses for Uttar Pradesh
PMAY Uttar Pradesh – The Central Government of India has sanctioned 1.27 lakh more affordable housing units for urban homeless poor under its ambitious affordable housing scheme i.e ‘Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana’ at an investment of more than Rs. 6,500 crore.

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation (MHUPA) has issued a release. As per the release, the total number of housing sanctioned including the latest housing sanctioned under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) has reached 20.95 lakh from the launch of the PMAY i.e. 15 June 2015. And the central’s assistance for the new sanctions will be Rs. 1,915 crore.
With these approvals, Uttar Pradesh has got the highest number of housing units i.e 70,784 with an investment of Rs. 3,528 crore. The central assistance for the new sanctions in Uttar Pradesh will be Rs. 1,062 crore for the construction of these housing units. Including these new sanctions, the new total number of housing units sanctioned for Uttar Pradesh is 1.12 lakh.
Besides this, Karnataka has been allocated 56,281 housing units with an expense of Rs. 2,950 crore and a central assistance of Rs. 844 crore.
And especially for the first time, 609 houses have been sanctioned for Port Blair, the capital of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, with an investment of Rs. 54 crore.
