PM Awas Yojana Delhi – Govt. to Implement Housing for All Scheme in Delhi
PM Awas Yojana Delhi
The poor living in Delhi will now get the benefit of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The deadlock over it has been removed. Delhi Development Authority (DDA), Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) will together make houses for the poor. Now people can avail the benefits of PM Awas Yojana Delhi.
The agreement between the central and the Delhi government was not made regarding the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
The Delhi government said that the land in Delhi is under DDA. That is why he can not compromise. The dispute has been resolved in a meeting lasted for the last two days under the chairmanship of Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Anil Baijal. The agreement has been signed between the DDA, DUSIB and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation (MHUPA).
According to an official, the Delhi government argued that since that land ownership in Delhi is under the jurisdiction of the Centre, which holds it through Delhi Development Authority (DDA), it would not be prudent to make some commitments on its part.
As per the guidelines of the scheme, for implementing various components of the PMAY (Urban), the DDA and the DUSIB will ba state-level nodal agencies as required.
However, the HUPA has approved the construction of over 18.75 lakh affordable houses for the urban poor in the country with an investment of over Rs 1 lakh crore and Central assistance of Rs 29,409 crore.
