The work progress of Indira Awas Yojana (IAY) is running sluggish for providing housing for poor families in the district. The five-year review of the scheme in the financial year 2010-11 a total of 16 494 beneficiaries of the housing scheme was approved.

So far only the 5916 plan is being completed by claiming departmental officials. The district is still incomplete 10 578 accommodation. The main reason for the slow progress of the housing scheme Indira Awas Yojana monitoring by assistants and BDO is to be taken in the dumps.

Last day a meeting was conducted by the Rural Development Minister and District Incharge Minister Shravan Kumar with officials from the state authorities were reprimanded over the slow progress of Indira Awas Yojana.

DM then asked clarification from the Deputy Development Commissioner. Halsey, Pipariya, and Channan block area are in the worst conditions of the plan review. In five years out of 2,562 houses, 446 houses in Halsey block, 353 and 638 in Pipariya, Channan 594 to 1,984 in the plan has been completed.
